The canopy tour is indeed one of Costa Rica’s most unique activities and a must-do for anyone visiting the country. These tours allow visitors to explore the elevated treetop eco-systems in the country’s rain forests, where plant and animal life is rich.

 

Canopy tours are accomplished in a few different ways. The original (and most fun) canopy tour involves traveling from tree to tree via a zip line. Platforms are attached to the trees so that visitors can stop and admire the view. Recently-opened canopy tours include a ride in a ski lift-type device through the tops of the trees. This may be more suitable for those with a fear of heights or with medical conditions that make climbing difficult.
