Hotels are plentiful in Costa Rica and more are being added each year as tourism increases. Big names in luxury hotels, like Four Seasons, are starting to appear near the country’s pristine beaches. Nevertheless, you’ll still find plenty of privately-owned, small hotels that are lovely and boast friendly, helpful proprietors. There are many options in and around San Jose if you prefer to stay in the city. In Guanacaste and other coastal areas, you’ll have the widest selection of hotels. In the more rugged inland areas, you’ll find fewer hotel options.
